About: James is a 2L at Georgetown interested in international and national security law. Born and raised in Hong Kong, James moved to Seattle, WA at 16. After graduating college, he served with AmeriCorps NCCC for about a year where he volunteered as a wildfire firefighter in LA, VA, FL and SC. Owing to the constant moving, James has been exposed to and is still fascinated to work with people from all cultures and backgrounds. After arriving at Georgetown last year, he has had the opportunity to meet and develop a kinship with many APALSA members. The APALSA community gradually became a part of his identity, which is why he is very excited to be involved this year and to advocate for API students and lawyers' needs in the years to come.
Heather Huang

About: Heather is a 2L at Georgetown Law and a proud Double Hoya. In addition to serving on APALSA's e-board, you can find Heather around campus serving as a Legal Practice Law Fellow, RISE Fellow and Tutor, Staff Editor for the Georgetown Law Journal, and Research Assistant for the Global Campaign for Peace Education. Beyond her school activities, she enjoys cooking, jigsaw puzzles, and spending time with her dog!
Heidi Chu

About: Heidi is a 2L at Georgetown Law passionate about the intersection of technology, business, and law. At Georgetown University, she developed a background in political science, while strengthening her programming and communication skills in order to develop human centered designs for social good. She was the President of the Georgetown Marketing Association, where she oversaw over 100 undergraduate consultants in the execution of numerous pro bono client projects for local and national businesses. She spent her 1L summer working as a 1L Diversity Scholar at an AmLaw 100 firm. Outside of APALSA, you can find Heidi around campus as a Technology Law & Policy Scholar and RISE Mentor. In her spare time, she loves to eat and make music. She takes extreme pride in her GoogleMaps catalog of eateries that spans across several metropolitan cities and her DMV food Instagram account.
Emily Wu

About: Emily is a 2L at Georgetown Law interested in antitrust and litigation. Before law school, Emily spent the first 15 years of her life in Shenzhen and went to high school in Dallas, Texas. She graduated cum laude from Barnard College with a degree in Mathematical-Statistics and a minor in Philosophy. Outside of APALSA, Emily is a Business Law Scholar and Staff Editor for the Georgetown Journal of International Law. Beyond law school, Emily is an avid reader of sci-fi and thriller novels, chess player, and former épée fencer. Emily speaks fluent Mandarin and is working on her Dutch.
Queenie Lu

About: Queenie is a 3L at Georgetown Law. Before law school, she was a baker and barista, running a baking blog and an online bakeshop. Although she bakes far less nowadays, she remains a coffee snob and an avid bakery explorer. Outside of APALSA, you can find Queenie as an Admissions Fellow at GULC's Office of Admissions, an extern at Georgetown University's Office of General Counsel, a research assistant to Professor Satterthwaite, the secretary of the Women of Color Collective, and a transfer student peer mentor. She spent her 1L and 2L summers at a big law firm in Seattle, focusing on Trusts & Estates. In her free time, she enjoys reading, lying on the beach (preferably doing both at the same time), traveling, and exploring museums through her kid's eyes.
Eshaan Kajani

About: Eshaan worked previously in hedge funds and private equity before coming to law school. When not in the library being the only person actively refusing to use technology to make life easier, you can find him screaming about the horror that is watching one of his sports teams (the Los Angeles Clippers, Chargers, or Manchester City), working out in the Sport and Fitness Center, or exploring one of the many museums in DC.
Bill Chen

About: Bill is a 2L at Georgetown Law, with an interest in entertainment law. Before law school, he studied Business Administration at Pepperdine where he also learned how to surf. Having never been outside of the West Coast, Bill thought it would be fun to give the DMV a chance. He will be moving back to Los Angeles after graduation. In his free time, Bill enjoys spending time in nature, trying new restaurants, and learning how to be a better cook.

About: Max is a 2L at Georgetown Law. Prior to law school, Max studied Philosophy and Art History at NYU. Max is interested in the intersection of the law and epistemology. During his 1L summer, Max conducted research for professors Carlos M. Vázquez and Jamillah Williams. Outside of law school, you can find Max minding his own business. Max usually does not talk about himself in the third person. Max usually does not talk about himself at all. Max is quiet like that.
Li-Wen Ong

About: Li-Wen is a 3L at Georgetown Law. Prior to law school, Li-Wen was a gymnast turned springboard and platform diver and worked at the Cybersecurity Agency of Singapore. Alongside APALSA, she is also a tech law scholar, the Executive Notes Editor of the Journal of National Security Law and Policy, and the Co-President of Georgetown Law Singapore Society and Beyond a Reasonable Stout. She is a HUGE foodie (like her two dogs) who enjoys exploring the outdoors when she is not hunting down her new favorite restaurant or perfecting her macaron recipe.

During her 1L summer, she interned at the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia and worked as a Research Assistant for Professor Rima Sirota. This past summer, Maddie interned at Legal Aid DC where she helped clients obtain public benefits like Social Security, Medicaid, and more. In addition to serving on APALSA’s e-board, Maddie is a Legal Practice Law Fellow and a Staff Member of the Georgetown Law Journal. In her free time, Maddie enjoys cooking, playing viola, skiing, spending time with friends and family, and cheering for the Washington Capitals.

About: Daniel is a 2L at Georgetown Law, with an interest in practicing litigation. Prior to law school, Daniel worked at two large law firms in Boston before deciding to return to the DC area to attend Georgetown. At Georgetown, Daniel is a Staff Member for the Georgetown Law Journal Volume 113. He previously served as an APALSA 1L delegate during his 1L year and is a member of the Georgetown Law Soccer Club. Outside of law school, Daniel enjoys spending time with his family, friends, and his dog. He loves Malaysian food and staying active.

About: George was born in San Jose, raised in Shanghai, and came to the East Coast for higher education. Prior to law school, he earned his Bachelor of Science in Media, Culture, and Communication from New York University, where he developed an interest in the intersection between media and the law. He spent his 1L summer working as a summer associate at a Chinese law firm in New York City. Outside of law school, he enjoys playing electric guitar and video games, exploring restaurants, and sleeping.
Dianna Chang

About: Dianna is a 2L at Georgetown Law. She is interested in Products Liability Litigation and Trial Advocacy. Prior to law school, Dianna studied Criminology: Law and Society at UC Irvine. Her passion for trial work led her to Georgetown, where she now serves as the Managing Director of Barristers' Council and as Assistant Tournament Director in the Trial Advocacy Division. In Dianna's free time, she loves weightlifting, going to pilates and lagree classes, and finding the best matcha every city has to offer.
